  • 11.13.07. Kentucky Thoroughbred Industry - Dr. Michelle LeBlanc and Starlee Smith (extern coordinator) from Rood and Riddle hosting an informational meeting on Rood and Riddle as well as the thoroughbred industry in Kentucky.

  • 3.29.07. Dr. Orava from Vet Stem and Dr. Bertone, speaking about veterinary biologic products.

  • 4.18.07. Dr. Robertson speaking on "Upper airway evaluation in horses". Also a brief overview of what's to come over the next quarter and school year.

  • 4.28.07. Rolex Kentucky - Dr. Kohn will be taking students from several veterinary schools to Kentucky to help at this three day horse event. To learn more about it, visit http://www.rk3de.org/index.php.

  • 5.05.07. Last Chance Corral - OSU Equine Club and Shelter Medicine Club will be taking a visit to an award winning, non-profit horse rescue organization in Athens, OH to witness the efforts put into saving many domestic equines.

  • 5.09.07. Dr. Lenz will be speaking on the very timely and important topic of horse slaughter in the U.S. As chairman of both the AAEP Equine Welfare Committee and the Unwanted Horse Coalition, past president of the AAEP, practitioner, teacher, and businessman, Dr. Lenz has a knowledgeable and well-rounded view of this complicated and sensitive subject.

  • 5.17.07. SVECCS and Equine Club would like to present "Equine Emergencies" by Nicholas Ernst, DVM, MS, Diplomat ACVS. This lecture is about how to approach typical equine emergencies and how they differ from small animal emergencies. Dinner will be provided.

  • 5.26.07. Kentucky Trip - More to come about the tours and events scheduled for this educational visit to Kentucky's equine clinics, hospitals and farms.

  • 1.17.07. Equine Acupuncture, presented by Dr. Brad Luckenbill. Joint meeting with the holistic club

  • 2.22.07. "Herpes & EVA" (lunch) and "Intranasal vaccines" (dinner), presented by Dr. Val Williams and sponsored by Fort Dodge.

  • 2.27.07. Equine Business Management, presented by Andy Clark, CEO of Hagyard.

  • 3.1.07. Equine Reproduction, presented by Dr. Michelle LeBlanc from Hagyard. Joint meeting with the Therio club.

  • 3.4.07. Limb Ultrasound Lab with presentation from Dr. Genovese. Sign up sheet will be posted on the equine club bulletin board. Lab is limited to 20 people.


  • FALL 2006

  • October 9th - Club information session, potluck dinner, and a meet-and-greet with the equine faculty members.

  • October 28th - Farrier short course.

  • November 16th – Therio club equine breeding soundness

  • November 16th - Dr. Nathan Slovis (Hagyard Equine Medicial Insititute), "Critical Care Medicine a Private Hospital's Perspective."

  • November 17th - Dr. Nathan Slovis, "Equine Critcal Care Triage: Are you prepared?"
