New Equine Vaccination Guidelines- 12pm in VHA- Dr. Hankins, a Fort Dodge Veterinarian, will educate us on new equine vaccination guidelines, a very pertinent and important topic. PLEASE RSVP to Chrissie Pariseau by Wednesday (1/9) at NOON. Cosi lunch will be served!

Opportunities in Equine Research- 5:30pm in VHA- To start, officers of Equine Club will describe their positions for those interested in running. Then, at approximately 6PM, Dr. Rustin Moore, OSU's Veterinary Clinical Sciences department chair, will provide current information in regards to equine research and the opportunities it has for us. PLEASE RSVP to Chrissie Pariseau by Monday (1/21) at NOON. Dinner will be served!

Officer Elections and Make the Equine Practice Lifestyle Work for YOU- 5:30pm in VHA- Officer elections will be held from 5:30 to approximately 6PM. At 6PM, Dr. Jim Smith will present ways in which an equine practice lifestyle can work for you. PLEASE RSVP to Chrissie Pariseau by Monday (1/21) at NOON. Dinner will be served!

Equine Neurology Short Course- Time and place TBD- Steve Reed, DVM, ACVIM currently practices at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY. Up until last year, he taught and practiced Equine Internal Medicine at Ohio State CVM for over 20 years. While at OSU, Dr. Reed taught the Equine Neurology course that is not currently being offered in our curriculum. In addition, Starlee Smith, surgery technician and externship/ internship coordinator at Rood & Riddle, will be discussing the externship/internship opportunities at Rood & Riddle. Interested? E-mail Chrissie Pariseau and let us know! Depending on the response, the lab may be a lottery. There will be a lecture portion, video portion, and lab portion to the short course. If available, neurologic horses may be used for exams to demonstrate deficiencies.
